TECC - RTF (Rescue Task Force)

Course Lengths:
  • 8-hours
  • 16-hours
  • Extended course lengths upon request 

Course Description: 

TECC RTF is specifically designed for personnel who are working or preparing to work within a Rescue Task Force (RTF) deployment and is open to Firefighters, First Reponders, Police Officers, etc. This course utilizes the most current C-TECC (Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care). The format includes a lecture, hand-on practical skill stations, and scenario-based training. 

Our Approach: 
At Valley TEMS we believe in an appropriate distribution of didactic classroom learning and hands-on practical experience, with a heavier focus being the latter. We offer the most up-to-date guidelines and protocols based on current CoTCCC recommendations and take pride in providing our students with quality, hands-on training opportunities. All of our instructors are certified and experienced providers who go to great lengths to tailor to the needs of our students. 

Course Price: 
  • Course price is dependent on class size and location

Required Equipment: 
  • clothing appropriate for scenarios which may include: dirt, water, mud, fake blood, etc. 
  • footwear appropriate for scenarios which may include: climbing, dragging, wet or muddy conditions, stairs, heave objects, etc.

Recommended Equipment: 
  • personal or issued personal protective equipment (PPE) including: eye wear, helmet, gloves, ballistic vest, ballistic shield, etc.
    • It is recommended to train with the equipment utilized in the active working environment.  

​Weapons: No weapons are allowed during active training exercises (classroom/scenarios)
  • weapons include: firearms, knives, flashbangs, batons, irritant sprays/foams, electrical stun devices, etc.

Physical Disclaimer: 
  • Students may be exposed to uncomfortable elements and stress inducing activities that may include: walking, running, lifting, carrying, dragging, crawling, hot/cold temperatures, wet/dark/smokey/dusty environments, loud noises, and realistic-type scenarios. 
  • Students must be aware of their own capabilities, limitations, and preexisting conditions which may affect their overall performance as well the safety of themselves and others. 
  • Valley TEMS instructors reserve the authority to alter or discontinue any training deemed unsafe per their discretion.
  • Any concerns should be discussed prior to enrolling in the course.
